SCHOOL VISITS

I love author events especially in schools! Over the last few years I have participated in a number of primary and secondary schools—assembly and classrooms up to 400 students in an assembly! As well as Avon residential and various literary festivals where I have spoken to over 100 children. Luckily I have great noise management!  I also have years of experience working with learners of all ages.

My sessions are best for ages 6+. Events can be for any group size from a small class to a large assembly. I offer readings, creative writing workshops, activities and a 'How I became an author' presentation.

Please note I do not supply my own books. They will have to be ordered in by your local supplier.

'Outstanding visit. A perfect match for our diverse school. An inspiring talk and reading and lively, engaging workshops. The whole school is still buzzing about the visit. A huge thank you to Abiola, she has inspired the next generation of young authors.'

'We had an excellent day with Abiola- our students loved hearing her presentation and speaking with her at the book signings- and her books were hugely popular. I would definitely recommend her to other schools and we would be keen to have a repeat visit if that can be arranged in either the next or following academic year. A particular strength/ suitability in terms of our school was how well she related across all age groups that she spoke to- Year 5, 7 and Year 10 all really enjoyed meeting her as she was so engaging and adjusted her presentations and approach accordingly.'
